Dorothy Peterson is a native of Central New Mexico, and her paintings show an influence of the landscape and culture of this part of the world. She has lived in other parts of the United States as well, and has traveled extensively in Europe.
Her life experience is woven into her imagery to produce paintings of depth and richness.
A recipient of numerous awards, she has taught many successful workshops, as well as college-level courses inpainting, drawing, and art history.
She is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and is listed in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who in the West
