Dorothy Peterson began interpreting the landscape and the places and people of North Central New Mexico when she was very young. An award winning professional artist for many years, the aura of this special area of the world where she was born is still evident in her work. The brooding mysterious mountains and the shimmering light of this place where the plains of the East meet the mountains of the North translate into the light, shade and shifting form that infuse her paintings.
Peterson's award winning work has been displayed in numerous shows and is included in corporate and public collections across the United States and Europe.
